What is Aleph א all about?
Aleph א is a beginners course for learning the basics of biblical Hebrew and equipping each student with a thorough understanding of the Hebrew alphabet, vowels, nouns, verbs, and foundations of grammar. See Course Curriculum below for specific details.
Live classes will begin on Sunday, May 5 and conclude on Friday, July 12 2019. The course offers two live sessions per week on Sunday and Wednesday evenings via Zoom video, the recordings of which will be available to the student for review at any time.

Your Instructor
Megan received her PhD from UCLA with a focus in ancient Jewish history and religion. She has been interested in the Hebrew language since she was young and hasn't stopped since. Before her phD program, she received her M.A in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and her B.A. in Jewish Studies from the American Jewish University. She is proficient in both biblical and modern Hebrew, as well as various Aramaic dialects including Syriac.
Her teaching philosophy is informed by years as a student of language and takes a holistic approach to integrating reading skills, grammar, and comprehension.
She currently lives in northern Spain with her spouse, Taylor, and enjoys teaching, traveling, and buying books.
